Well, I suppose it beats the traditional first blog post of “Hello World.”

Well… maybe not the singles.
Rambles & Whimsy is my little slice of the internet. I’ve wanted to write since I first learned to read, but for various reasons I never really did anything about it… until now. I bought this domain, appropriately enough, on a whim. The idea is simple: this is a place where I can post my writing and slowly build an online portfolio.
This is me, by the way:
Just your standard forty-something bloke attempting to pivot from being a rabid bibliophile to actually making money with his wit and keyboard.
The blog itself will act partly as a journal and partly as writing practice. Expect unfiltered thoughts on books, TV, the occasional decades-late hot take on something everyone else finished years ago, and updates on whatever project I’m currently wrestling with.
The plan is to update Rambles & Whimsy, the horror-themed Chop Shop, or my geeky basement Crying is a Free Action roughly every two weeks, with a fresh blog post appearing here once a week.
